Camino Fisterra-Muxía Stage 4
From Campo do Rollo, in Corcubión, we start a steep climb which leads to the Campo de San Roque and the hamlet of O Vilar. We pass the towns of A Amarela and then Estorde. At Sardiñeiro we walk along stretches which were parts of the Camino Real. We cross a region which has one of the most beautiful shorelines in the Iberian Peninsula, with immense, tranquil sandy areas which cushion the rocky sea front and a very rough sea which has left hundreds of stories and legends of shipwrecks and salvaging. We skirt the Cala do Talón, then we come to Calcova and reach the beautiful, extensive beach of A Lagosteira. In the background emerges the town of Fisterra like an island. The layout of the Camino runs between sand dunes, but many pilgrims decide to complete this stage on the beach. We enter Fisterra through the district of San Roque and, passing in front of the cruceiro or Cross of Baixar, we take the Rúa Santa Catarina and the Rúa Real.
