Kumano Kodo — Daimon-zaka & Nachi

The approach pilgrims walk up from the sea to the shrine at Nachi. The last stretch is the Daimon-zaka, a cobbled slope under cedars planted eight hundred years ago, and at the top are Kumano Nachi Taisha, the pagoda of Seiganto-ji, and Nachi Falls — a single 133 m drop that is itself the shrine's object of worship.
