Partnachklamm

A short loop out of Garmisch-Partenkirchen into one of the deepest gorges in the Bavarian Alps. The Partnach has cut 80 m down through the rock and the path runs inside the cut, on galleries and through tunnels with the water going past at arm's length. Wet all year, and worth a jacket. [Route details] Start / End: Olympia-Skistadion, Garmisch-Partenkirchen Via: Partnachklamm · Vordergraseck 4.87 km round trip · 730 m to 880 m · climb 166 m [Good to know] - The gorge itself is a ticketed path and keeps its own opening hours. - Reconstructed from the OpenStreetMap path network: in through the gorge, back down over Vordergraseck, which is the usual round rather than an out-and-back. - Elevation is sampled from a terrain model at 300 m spacing, not recorded on the ground.
