Down from the summit of the Rigi, the mountain that stands alone between Lake Lucerne and Lake Zug with the whole Alpine chain on one side and the Mittelland on the other. Cog railways have climbed it since 1871 — the first mountain railway in Europe — so the walk is a descent from Kulm past Staffel and the Chänzeli terrace to Kaltbad, with the view open the whole way.
