Camino Portugués da Costa Stage 3
We bid farewell to Baiona. On the way to the parish of Sabarís, the route passes the lovely historic O Pombal Fountain, then continues along Cristo Rei Street to Sabarís. Opposite the local market, it crosses a Romanesque bridge over the Groba River and continues past the Cadaval manor house to the lovely bridge at A Ramallosa, also Romanesque. It has ten arches and may have been built atop a Roman structure. It marks the start of the mouth of the Miñor River, an environmentally rich marshland. We enter the municipality of Nigrán. This section of the route offers a number of lovely examples of vernacular architecture, the historic Galician country houses known as pazos and stone crosses such as those at Mallón and O Pereiro. Panxón is home to the church known as Templo Votivo do Mar, the work of architect Antonio Palacios, and a Visigothic arch (8th century). This entire stage features lovely fine white sand beaches and a mild climate for most of the year. [Stage details] Start: Baiona · End: Vigo 26.8 km · about 5h 25min · difficulty low
