Trolltunga
A slab of rock jutting horizontally out of the mountainside 700 m above Ringedalsvatnet, near Odda in the Hardanger. The walk climbs from Skjeggedal onto the plateau and crosses it east to the tongue — no railing, no barrier, just the rock and the drop. [Route details] Start: Skjeggedal · End: Trolltunga 11.1 km one way · 417 m to 1,216 m About 10 hours there and back [Good to know] - Out and back on the same path, so roughly 22 km and 1,000 m of climb in the day. - The season is June to September; outside it the plateau needs winter equipment and a guide, and people are turned back at the trailhead. - A shuttle runs from Skjeggedal (P2) up to Mågelitopp (P3), which takes about 4 km off the round trip. This line starts at P2. - Elevation is sampled from a terrain model, not recorded on the ground.
