Olpererhütte
A short, steep climb from the Schlegeis reservoir to a hut at 2,389 m on the Berliner Höhenweg, and back down the same way. What makes it famous is the suspension footbridge a few minutes before the hut: it spans a gully with the turquoise reservoir directly below and the Zillertal peaks behind. [Route details] Start and finish: Schlegeis reservoir day car park 6.17 km out and back · 1833 m to 2409 m · climb 575 m [Good to know] - This is the Tirol tourist board's own track for the walk, linked as the source. - Short but consistently steep — the climbing is done in about three kilometres. - The road to the reservoir is a private toll road and closes in winter; the hut runs roughly late June to early October. - The bridge is single file and there is usually a queue for the photograph. - Elevation is sampled from a terrain model — the board's file carries none.
