Stroudwater Trail

A green corridor along the Stroudwater and Fore rivers between Westbrook and Portland, on ground that was a canal towpath and then a railway before it was a path. It runs through marsh and woodland inside the city with almost no gradient at all. [Route details] Start: Westbrook · End: Stroudwater, Portland 9.44 km · climb 24 m [Good to know] - As flat as anything on this board — 24 m over nine kilometres. - Boardwalk over the wet sections, and tidal marsh near the Fore River end.
